Nowadays, it might be already widely known, but - you should watch "The Seventh Sign (1988)" to fully comprehend why suddenly, after/out of Benestrophe, this kind of dense and style-wise groundbreaking path was chosen. At least i am convinced that this movie plays a major role.
I believe i bought this record on its release date in Germany and i was literally blown away by the force and intensity of it. The early Mentallo & The Fixer works are among the major influences and interestingly a parallel development to my very own works. I think i memorized every frame of PCM of Revelations 23 and No further rest for the Wicked.
I had the lucky opportunity to chat with Gary through some pretty booze blurred mails from my side, and it also lead me to have some fine chats with RASDVA, may he rest in Peace.
Until the day i die, your music will be with me. *Awesome work*. Thank you!!
This is definitely the best Mentallo & The Fixer release there has ever been, i felt like their later albums lacked in comparison
This introduced strong, forced, brutal, fast, and instantaneous raspy beats to their sound. I especially love "Inhumanities" and the whole feel and theme surrounding it, sounds like Human culture that has exceeded its use, and a crusty burning, red planet being the leftover of this "culture" Other tracks like "Cerebral Statik Overdose" Just nails the whole electro-industrial genre down, this is how you do the Oldschool sound! "Grim Reality" is an industrial anthem that you just have to listen to, and "Rapid Suffocation" "Fusion Mutation" "Scum of the Earth" are the Darkest most Brutal tracks you'll hear. "Ancient Languagez" and "Pulse Hemorrhage" are probably the fastest, and hardest track I have ever heard in this genre. "Legion of Lepers" is just the nosiest, distorted track you'll ever hear. "Soaked with Blood (T.H.C Edit)" is one of the genre's greatest tracks, and its obvious Suiciety (a clone from Denmark) ripped the track off for his entire album "Century of Brutality" I mean Seriously, just listen to any of these tracks on that album And you can CLEARLY tell they are all subpar rip-offs of that track in some shape or fashion. I can extremely recommend this album for all fans of Electro-Industrial, there isn't a single reason not to get this album its definitely the best the genre has to offer IMO especially in that time period (1993) I also think this is their BEST album to date, i haven't heard any of there other albums that even slightly compares to Revelations 23 in quality, except maybe No Rest For The Wicked for its special use of distorted, insanely filtered, breakcore-like drums. So i would only recommend these 2 if you're looking for their top 2 releases of all time. Recommended 5/5 Stellar !!
On this album they accomplished the ultimate method of free flowing industrial by further developing the use of a semi-ambient framework which appeared on their first album, only much more dynamic and heavier in terms of programing and arrangements. The first couple of tracks flow particularly well and create a very dense and suffocating atmosphere, later tracks dwindle a bit but overall this is their most well rounded effort and will hold the listener's attention span better than their other albums.
